The story of what happened when COVID took me somewhere I never expected to go.
Who I am beyond the fever dreams
I've spent much time in the woods, tracking, waiting, understanding the rhythms of nature. Hunting taught me patience and respect for the wild — lessons that helped me navigate life's unexpected path.
Art has always been my way of making sense of things. Whether it's through painting, writing, or storytelling, I've learned that sometimes the best way to understand something is to create it, to give it form and shape.
My Family stood by me through it all— the sickness, the trips to the ER, the ICU, being put on the ventilator, the covid stroke that left me paralyzed, confusion, the long days and nights when I couldn't tell what was real, the weeks in rehab fighting to recover. Their support made it possible for me to recover from these experiences without losing myself.
As an ex-athlete/Coach I've tried to push myself and others past the pain and be tough enough to help make our dreams possible. As a Dreamer I've always been someone who pays attention to dreams. But COVID took all that to another level. It wasn't just about being tough, and the dreams and nightmares I experienced weren't just dreaming — they were something deeper, something that felt like a doorway to another kind of consciousness.
